OLD OLOMOUC TOUR & WELCOME RECEPTION DINNER

Monday, 6th September 2021, 17:00 – 22:00 — included in the conference fee

Olomouc is a picturesque town full of romantic attractions. Its ancient city centre can easily be travelled around on foot. Walking there on a late summer early-evening, it is like tasting the colour of magic.

We will take you on a guided tour so that you may expose yourself to the unique genius loci of Olomouc.

The tour will take approx. 2 hours of (mostly) walking. It will end right in the very centre of Olomouc, in the Upper Square, from where everyone is free to extend the tour with his/her own experience of the Olomouc cafés, tearooms, bars, and pubs.

The below described event is being planned and it is here for you to get a notion about what you may expect. Please, note that especially the date and time of the event might change a bit (and the events themselves too).

TOUR SCHEDULE

The expected schedule of the tour on Monday, 6th September 2021, from 17:00 till 22:00, is as follows:

17:00 – 17:10: Meeting of the tour participants in front of the Faculty of Arts.
17:10 – 17:30: Walking to the starting point of the guided tour in front of the famous Olomouc astronomical clock.
17:30 – 19:30: Guided tour of the old city centre of Olomouc with ethnographic and historical commentary (the tour is about 6 km/3.7 mi of walking).
20:00 – 22:00: Welcome reception dinner in one of Olomouc restaurants.

Option: Those, who will not linger in the conference building (Faculty of Arts) till 17:00, may join the tour later – at 17:30 in the Horní náměstí (Upper Square) in front of the astronomical clock.

CANCELLED CONFERENCE TRIP TO THE CASTLE BOUZOV WITH A GUIDED TOUR AND A DINNER IN LITOVEL (SO-CALLED "MORAVIAN VENICE")

Wednesday, 8 September 2021, 09:00 – 16:30 — not included in the conference fee / surcharge 1000 CZK (approx. 40€)

This social event has been cancelled because of lack of interest about it among the conference participants. Unfortunately, most participants opted for the online/remote participation and the minority of those who will arrive to Olomouc is not much interested in the event.

TRIP SCHEDULE

The expected schedule of the trip on Wednesday, 8 September 2021, from 09:00 till 16:30, is as follows:

09:00 – 09:10: Meeting of the trip participants in front of the Faculty of Arts.
09:10 – 10:00: Bus transfer from Olomouc to Bouzov.
10:00 – 12:00: Guided Grand tour of Bouzov castle.
12:00 – 12:15: Bus transfer from Bouzov to Loštice.
12:15 – 13:15: Guided tour in Loštice – traditional cheesemaking of the legendary (and super-smelly) Olomoucké tvarůžky.
13:15 – 13:30: Bus transfer from Loštice to Litovel.
13:30 – 15:00: Dinner in the Litovel Brewery.
15:00 – 16:00: Tour of the "Moravian Venice".
16:00 – 16:30: Bus transfer from Litovel back to Olomouc.

The trip price covers all the admissions, the conducted tours with an English-speaking guide, the dinner and the travel costs.
