Product description
The software is a result of a research project that is aimed towards possible UI improvements of so-called file managers. Particularly, it addresses so-called layered operations. These operations stand for user-ordered set of file operations, which have not been performed yet. Saving their description, a user can run them later as a batch process. To a limited extent, such functionality is already present at some file managers, where it is possible plan copying and moving of files. However, FineCommander does not limit the type of possible file operations. Goal of the research is to create such software, so that user will able to see resulting state of the file system after performed file operations. It means to let the user to predict and avoid possible problems beforehand. Expected saving is the time, when e.g. copying of large numbers of small files over a network interfaces takes a very long time to complete.
