We regret to announce that the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) currently—according to the statements of its management—does not provide any particular support to the conference participants from developing economies. The only grants provided are targeted to students. The instructions for the student grant application are the following:
Please send your student grant application form to the ISCA Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
ISCA financially supports students and young scientists (age < 35) to participate in workshops and conferences organized or supported by ISCA.
Exceptionally, researchers in special situations like unemployment or coming from low income-level countries could also apply.
The support covers early registration and possibly accommodation costs while transportation costs are covered only in exceptional cases. Applicants from all countries are eligible.
Grants are approved, according to the available budget, to applicants who fulfill the requirements stated below. Nevertheless, applications which do not comply with all requirements are carefully evaluated and applicants may be supported.
The other requirements are the following:
Applications should be sent BY ELECTRONIC MAIL ONLY as early as possible and no later than the deadline specified on the website of the event (if no deadline is specified, the application should be sent no later than the early registration date of the event).
To apply, please complete the application form and return it to the grants coordinator Alan Black, together with the documentation detailed in the form.
In case of ISCA conferences or workshops, when it is possible, the grant is paid by ISCA directly to the organisers.
For other events the grant is paid after the conference either to the organisers or to the applicant upon receipt of original invoices or bills justifying the claimed expenses.
By accepting a grant the recipient commits himself to write a report describing his/her current activity (research, etc.) and the benefits expected for this activity from the attendance of the event. The report has to be submitted within one month after the end of the event. It will be made public by ISCA through Newsletters and/or the ISCA web server. Click here for a copy of the report form to be completed by recipients of an ISCA grant.
Any questions about grants should be addressed to the ISCA Grant Coordinator.
