Informatics and Its Specializations

Back

Description

Do you enjoy designing new solutions to interesting problems using algorithms, mathematics, machine learning and other unusual approaches? Don't you want to deal with UML diagrams, software sustainability or the sophisticated team management? Do you want to expand your knowledge from the fundamental areas of computer science to a specific application area? In that case, the follow-up Master's degree study programme in Informatics and Its Specializations may be the right one for you. The specific application area that you will focus on during your studies is determined by the chosen specialization. The programme is divided into three specializations: Medical Informatics, Natural Language Processing and Computer Graphics. The link to an e-application is available from the websites of these specializations.

What will I learn

During your studies, regardless of specialization, you will acquire mathematics and computer science theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the areas of signal processing, image processing, statistics and artificial intelligence. Further, knowledge in areas corresponding to chosen specialization will be advanced.

Career

The primary employment of graduates is in national and international companies specialized in the chosen application area, especially as analysts or developers. Graduates can work independently as well as in a team. Graduates can also work as researchers and can continue their studies as students of the doctoral study programme, e.g. study programme in Computer Science and Engineering guaranteed by the Faculty of Applied Sciences.
